As Australian Open fever continues to sweep the nation, it’s the fans in the stands who are falling hardest for the tournament’s biggest stars.
At Carlos Alcaraz‘s January 23 match, the 22-year-old was proposed to not once, not twice, but three times consecutively by fangirls and their families.
One fan took their shot as the tennis star was walking back to his position, shouting out, “Carlos, marry my daughter!”.
As laughter broke out across the crowd, another added, ”Marry my sister-in-law!”.
Though Alacaraz kept a cool head, when another fan shouted out, “Marry me!”, it finally elicited a small smile from the player as the entire crowd cheered.
But it begs the question – who has been able to steal the Spaniard’s heart so far?
Maria González Giménez
The young tennis star was first linked to Maria González Giménez back in 2022.
Reports say that she is his childhood friend, with both of them growing up in El Palmar, Murcia.
Giménez is also a tennis player, with The Sunreporting that she plays for Murcia Club de Tenis, a Spanish tennis club.
The couple were very private at the time they were dating, but Alcaraz did share one snap of him planting a kiss on her cheek in an Instagram story, as per Tennis Tonic. His caption read “I miss you” in Spanish.
Neither of them have confirmed nor denied the relationship, and it is unclear if or when they split.
But in February 2023, Alacaraz mentioned a breakup in a Vogue Interview, sharing that he has been single for 18 months.
“It’s complicated, never staying in one place,” he said.
“It’s hard to find the person who can share things with you if you’re always in different parts of the world.”
Emma Raducanu
Alcaraz found himself embroiled in rumours with his fellow tennis player Emma Raducanu after fans witnessed their incredible on-court chemistry at the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships.
The 2025 US Open mixed doubles partners have consistently denied the rumours and fans’ shipping fantasies, though Raducanu, 23, seemed to understand where they were coming from.
She told the BBC she’s “glad the internet is having fun and we’re providing some entertainment for everyone,” but stated that her relationship with Alcaraz was purely platonic.
