Is Steph Curry playing tonight vs. Suns? Final game status for Warriors star

The Golden State Warriors will look to snap a two-game losing streak when they head to Phoenix to take on the Suns on Thursday night.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, pulling out a win will be made more difficult by the fact that they’ll be without their best player for the contest.

Steph Curry ruled out vs. Suns with ‘runner’s knee’

Steph Curry has been officially ruled out of the game due to right patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is also known as “runner’s knee.” The injury is defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.

This will be the second straight game missed by Curry due to the injury, as he was also held out of Golden State’s 113-94 loss to the Philadelphia 76ersearlier this week. Moving forward, Curry is considered day-to-day.

On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for Golden State and posted averages of 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.

In addition to Curry, the Warriors will also be without Jimmy Butler, who is out for the remainder of the season with an ACL tear. The Suns will also be without a key contributor for the contest, as star guard Devin Booker will miss his seventh consecutive game due to an ankle sprain.

Playoff positioning will be at stake in the matchup between Golden State and Phoenix. Entering the game, the Suns sit seventh in the Western Conference standings at 31-20, while the Warriors are directly behind them in eighth with a record of 27-24.
