Martina Navratilova has been firm in analyzing Emma Raducanu‘s management with her coaches. The tennis legend stated on Sky Sports that the British player is making “the biggest mistake of her career” by not betting on a long-term project. “You need someone full-time. It doesn’t have to be the best, but you need to be consistent and allow that person to get to know you, understand your story, and give them a chance to make a difference. You can’t expect immediate results, it’s a long process,” she explained. “She has gone through too many people, and in the end, you have so many different ideas that you don’t know which one to stick with. You have to trust the coach and keep them for longer,” she concluded. Raducanu, who has worked with multiple coaches since 2021, still struggles to find stability and recently ended her relationship with Francisco Roig, former coach of Rafael Nadal.
However, as she continues to push forward with her career, there’s hope that she does not remain stubborn in this stance.
After all, it could prohibit her development, should she not make the obvious choice eventually.

Earlier this month, Raducanu stated that she won’t rush to hire a new full-time coach. She was happy to go it alone, backed by a few trusted advisors.
