Novak Djokovic delivers inspirational message to the UCLA football team

Novak Djokovic has sent an inspirational message to the football team at UCLA ahead of his run at Indian Wells.

Djokovic made the stop at UCLA before heading to Tennis Paradise for Indian Wells, which is now underway.

The Serbian legend is a five-time winner of the men’s tournament, which represents the joint-most titles alongside Roger Federer.

Novak Djokovic shares wisdom with UCLA football team

A phenomenal physical and mental attitude has helped Djokovic achieve stunning success, and he has just shared some of his wisdom with the UCLA football team.

“It’s [about] right now,” he told them.

“This is the time because 10 per cent of life happens to us and 90 per cent of life is how we react to what happens to us.

Seeing you guys, how much you enjoy supporting each other, lifting each other up and bringing that spirit up.

“It’s only going to serve you as a team, you individually, [your] coach and the whole community and of course the college that you’re a part of.”

As ever, it was fantastic insight from Djokovic, who will go down as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, if not the greatest.

Novak Djokovic’s stunning Indian Wells record

Having also attended a Los Angeles Lakers game, the tennis legend is clearly enjoying his time in California.

But the former world number one will be well aware of the tough task at hand at Indian Wells, where he is the third seed.

He boasts a fantastic history at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament, but has been handed a very tough potential route to this year’s title.

That run should give him a confidence boost before he gets underway in round two, having received a bye in round one.

Kamil Majchrzak or Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will be up first for the 38-year-old, who boasts a stunning 51-11 win-loss record at Indian Wells.

He made his debut at the event all the way back in 2005, and enters another edition as a 24-time Grand Slam champion.
