Rafael Nadal and Aspemir acquire stake in Ocean Platform Marinas

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal’s investment holding company Aspemir has acquired a minority stake in Ocean Platform Marinas (OPM).

Led by Ocean Capital Partners, OPM specialises in the management and development of large-yacht marinas across Spain. Their shareholder base now includes Aspemir, alongside majority shareholder OCP, Grupo Empresas Matutes and investor Domingo de Torres.

OPM currently manages large yacht marinas in Ibiza, Málaga and Seville and has several new development projects planned in different parts of the country. According to OPM, the incorporation of Aspemir strengthens the Spanish and Mediterranean identity of the project, as well as reinforcing its ties with Mallorca and the Balearic yachting community.

“The incorporation of Aspemir into Ocean Platform Marinas represents key support for our project, through which we aim to promote large-yacht yachting with sustainable, state-of-the-art infrastructure that also fosters integration between port and city,” explained José Luis Almazán, Managing Partner of Ocean Capital Partners.

OPM’s development strategy focuses on creating modern marinas that combine advanced sustainability standards with environmental protection, including measures to safeguard the marine ecosystem and Posidonia oceanica.

Tennis player Rafael Nadal is the owner of the 23.95-metre 80 Sunreef Power catamaran yacht Great White, as well as being an ambassador for Sunreef Yachts. Launched in 2020, Great Whitecan accommodate up to 10 guests, as well as a crew of four.
