Speaking about Curry’s status, Draymond Green made it clear that the two-time MVP has no plans to sit out the rest of the season.
“There’s a lot of fear growing that Steph might not have enough runway for the play-in game. What I will tell you is, I don’t think Steph’s getting shut down for the season. I do know that Steph is doing all that he can to get back,” he said during The Draymond Green Show. “I do know that he’s progressing well on the court, and I do know that he’s very, very, very eager to get back out there.”
“And what I can assure you is, whether it’s one regular season game or five regular season games, Steph wants to play,” he explained. “And things are really looking up, doing a lot better, but I can assure y’all that Steph is capable of playing. He’s gonna play. Everybody’s saying, oh man, just shut him down. He ain’t going for it. He wanna play. And he’s trying to get back for the play-in. Because again, you just don’t know how many opportunities at 38 you have left. Want to make the best of every opportunity, so there’s no shutdown coming from Steph. He wants to play.”
Earlier, Shams Charania reported that Curry is targeting a possible return on Sunday against the Houston Rockets. However, final clearance will depend on how his body responds in the coming days.
