Max Verstappen receives decisive fan verdict over fierce F1 criticism

Over three-quarters of F1 fans agree with Max Verstappen’s decision to continue to criticise the new technical regulations, according to the resultsof a RacingNews365 poll.

The four-time world champion has been outspoken in his dislike of the new energy-management dependent regulations, branding them as “anti-racing” and like “Formula E on steroids” during pre-season testing.

After the Australian GP in which he finished sixth, he continued with his criticism, before going on to claim that anybody who enjoyed a thrilling Chinese GP did not “get racing” after his Red Bull retired with an ERS coolant leak.

Although many drivers, including reigning world champion Lando Norris and Williams’ Carlos Sainz, have also expressed criticism, none have been as fierce as Verstappen.

Following his China comments, RacingNews365 asked its readers if Verstappen’s criticism was fair, with an overwhelming 78.26% of respondents believing the Dutchman was only sharing his opinion and was right in his criticism.

This was in contrast to the 21.74% of readers who felt that Verstappen should stop his criticism and focus on improving the performance and reliability of his package.
