Enes Kanter Freedom last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season for the Boston Celtics. But the 34-year-old is eyeing a basketball comeback next year.

Freedom has made the decision amid the WNBA’s indecisiveness about whether to keep transgender athletes out of the league or not.
He now identifies as a woman and wants to show his talents in the W next year. After seeing his decision, Steph Curry’s former Golden State Warriorsteammate and 2015 NBA champion, Andrew Bogut, shared a short message on X.
Either way, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert needs to make a statement on Freedom’s announcement sooner rather than later.
After all, he’s following league protocol, and if he’s denied the opportunity, a discrimination lawsuit could be coming in the WNBA’s direction.
