Stephen Curry reveals recovery plan for knee injury

Stephen Curry shared that rest will be the key to his recovery after an injury limited his season with the Warriors. The star guard emphasized learning from the setback and focusing on rehab and maintenance as he prepares for next year.

Stephen Curry shared an update on his condition after an injury disrupted his season with the Golden State Warriors, making it clear that his focus is on recovery rather than surgery.

Curry, who dealt with runner’s knee after leaving a game against the Detroit Pistons on January 30, missed a large stretch of the season. He sat out 27 straight games and only returned briefly before the playoffs, finishing the year with just 43 appearances.

Speaking about his recovery plan, Curry pointed to rest as the main solution moving forward.

“Mostly rest,” Curry said in a post-game press conference after a loss to the Suns. “There are some things I can do to prepare myself for next year, which I’ll stay on top of.

They say a lot of golf helps my knee,” he joked. “I heard that was part of the research I did. It was pretty, pretty incredible. So hopefully we can do that and then come back next year. And I think long, big picture, you have to be mindful of what it showed, how it showed itself this year, knowing there was a clear difference, like how I prepared pre-injury and post-injury. So the things I’ve been doing recently, I’ll continue to do when it comes to rehab and maintenance and all that, but it is kind of touch and go, just knowing, hopefully rest will get me right.”

The Warriors star also pointed out that the injury showed a clear difference in how his body responded before and after the setback, which will now shape how he prepares going forward.

While his time on the court was limited, Curry still produced when available, averaging 26.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting efficiently from the field and from three.
