Ana Ivanovic backs Novak Djokovic to win Major title No. 25

Ana Ivanovic has praised Novak Djokovic and his sustained excellence after everything he has achieved.

The 2008 Roland Garros winner expressed confidence that the Serb still has what it takes to win another Major title and extend his incredible legacy.

Djokovic, who turns 39 in a couple of weeks, continues to compete at the highest level despite the physical demands of the modern game. The Serb has maintained a remarkable level of consistency on the biggest stage.

That keeps him in the top-5 despite his reduced schedule and only two tournaments in 2026. As Ivanovic highlighted, Djokovic has reached five consecutive Major semi-finals since the beginning of 2025.

He lost all four last season before shifting into a higher gear and reaching the Australian Open final this year, becoming the oldest player to achieve that in Melbourne and writing more pages of history books.

The Belgrade native bested the two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner in the semi-final and took the opener against Carlos Alcaraz in the title clash before falling in four sets.

Novak’s run underlines his ability to remain competitive deep into events against the strongest opposition, over two decades after his first encounters on the most notable tennis scene.

For Ivanovic, who has known Djokovic for nearly three decades, his achievements go beyond stats, numbers and records. Ana pointed to his influence on and off the court, particularly his role in inspiring future generations of Serbian athletes.

Novak’s ability to adapt, manage matches and maintain focus in crucial moments year after year continues to set him apart, even with many incredible youngsters pushing toward big trophies and the top of the ATP rankings.

At this stage of Djokovic’s career, the question of a 25th Major title has been the defining narrative. The challenge is significant, especially at his age, but Ivanovic believes his current level leaves that possibility firmly within reach.

With or without that, his legacy is already secured. Novak’s consistency across eras, combined with his longevity, places him as the most accomplished players of all time, with no one standing close to what he has achieved.

His pursuit of another Major title remains a central storyline, but his ability to remain a contender at this stage of his career continues to reinforce the scale of his accomplishments.
